Pre-Treatment Instructions

Botox
Before Your Appointment
- Please do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 48-72 hours before treatment to decrease the risk of bruising.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (Advil, Aspirin, Ibuprofen etc.) and blood-thinning medications (if advised by a prescribing physician), if possible, for two weeks before treatment. Supplements such as Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements should be avoided for two weeks to lessen the chances of bruising.
- Please try to schedule your injectable appointments at least 2-3 weeks before any significant events as it takes a full two weeks for results and to allow any bruising and swelling to settle.
- It is recommended to eat a light meal and be hydrated before your appointment to avoid feeling lightheaded during your treatment.
- You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Products such as Arnica can be taken before your appointment to help reduce swelling/bruising post-treatment.
Dermal Fillers
Before Your Appointment
- Please do not consume alcoholic beverages one week before treatment to decrease the risk of bruising.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (Advil, Aspirin, Ibuprofen etc.) and blood-thinning medications (if advised by a prescribing physician), if possible, for two weeks before treatment. Supplements such as Vitamin E, Ginkgo Biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements should be avoided for two weeks to decrease the chances of bruising.
- Please try to schedule your injectable appointments at least 2-3 weeks before any significant events to allow any bruising and swelling to settle. For the bride to be 4-6 weeks.
- Reschedule your appointment if you have any dental work (including a cleaning) within 4 weeks and/or vaccination.
- Reschedule your appointment, if you have a rash or cold sore in the area to be treated or if you feel unwell or have a fever.
- If you have a history of cold sores, please let us know, as we may prescribe an antiviral medication before treatment.
- If you have recently taken antibiotics for any infection, or if you are currently taking antibiotics, please wait at least 2 weeks after completing your antibiotic treatment before your injectable appointment. If you are taking antibiotics for acne, please contact us prior to your appointment so we can review your treatment plan.
- It is recommended to eat a light meal and be hydrated before your appointment to avoid feeling lightheaded during your treatment.
- You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Sculptra
Before Your Appointment
- Avoid alcohol, excessive sun exposure, and medications that may increase bruising, such as aspirin or ibuprofen, for 24 to 48 hours before your treatment, unless otherwise directed by your physician.
- Avoid supplements that may increase bruising, such as fish oil, omega-3, St. John’s Wort, ginkgo biloba, garlic, ginseng, turmeric, or vitamin E, for 5 to 7 days before your treatment.
- Please inform your provider of all current medications, supplements, medical conditions, allergies, or recent changes to your health.
- Avoid scheduling dental work, dental cleanings, or teeth whitening procedures within 2 weeks before your treatment.
Skin Health
Microneedling
Before Your Appointment
- Accutane | Isotretinion use in the last six months is contraindicated with this treatment.
- Avoid active skin creams that can irritate the skin for 5-7 days before microneedling, including topicals such as AHA/BHA, retinol, acids, exfoliants etc.
- Anti-inflammatories such as Advil and ibuprofen should be avoided for two weeks before microneedling to avoid interfering with the healing process.
- IPL, laser, and sun exposure should be avoided for 7-14 days before microneedling.
- Waxing and shaving should be avoided 24-36 hours before Microneedling.
- You are not a candidate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- Reschedule your appointment if you have an active breakout, active cold sores, or open lesions.
- Allow at least twelve (12) hours after autoimmune therapies before having treatment.
- Wait at least forty-eight (48) hours before or after Botox treatment to have treatment.
- Wait at least one (1) week before or after any fillers such as Juvederm, Stylage, Restylane, Revanesse, etc.
Chemical Peels
Before Your Appointment
- Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanners for at least 7 days prior to treatment, as sun exposure can increase the risk of irritation, sensitivity, and pigmentation.
- Stop all active skincare products 5 to 7 days before treatment, with a minimum of 4 days, unless otherwise directed by your provider. This includes retinoids, retinol, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, benzoyl peroxide, exfoliating acids, and exfoliating products.
- Do not exfoliate or receive any facial treatments for at least 5 days before your peel. This includes scrubs, facial brushes, dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, or professional facials.
- Avoid waxing, threading, shaving, laser treatments, or any hair removal on the treatment area prior to your appointment.
- If waxing was performed, please wait at least 7 days before receiving a light chemical peel and 10 to 14 days before receiving a medium or deeper chemical peel.
- Please arrive with clean skin, free of makeup, lotions, oils, sunscreen, or active products on the treatment area.
- Inform your provider of any recent skin treatments, sunburns, irritation, rashes, infections, medication changes, or if you are feeling unwell before your appointment.
